PRESS RELEASE
Bookers Vineyard, Bolney Wine Estate, Foxhole Lane, Bolney, West Sussex. RH17 5NB

English Wine Week is looking rosé at Bookers Vineyard
English Wine Week (23rd May – Sunday 31st May) is fast approaching, so why not
celebrate with a glass of England’s finest home grown, from the expert winemakers at the Bolney Wine Estate, Bookers Vineyard?
To mark the occasion, the vineyard is releasing its new 2008 Bolney Blush rosé still
wine, which will be available to taste – free of charge – at the shop onsite during English Wine Week. Bolney Blush is a light, dry rosé wine with strawberry and rose
petal aromas, making it the ideal tipple for those looking for a refreshing, fruity wine to drink over the summer months. Give your taste buds a real treat and enjoy this
easy-drinking wine with barbecue dishes, pasta and salads. If you can’t make it to the vineyard for a free taster then visit www.bookersvineyard.co.uk for a list of stockists. You can also buy a bottle online from the vineyard, RRP £8.95.
“Grow your own” and help plant new vines at the vineyard. Planting will take place
from 26th May until 29th May. If you fancy getting your hands dirty then call 01444 881575 and find out how you can get involved.
Bolney Wine Estate will run a series of tours and tastings at the vineyard throughout
English Wine Week. Experience how a working vineyard and winery operates; look at the vines, discuss how they are trained, and talk about the growing and harvesting
seasons. Then onto the winery to find out how wine is made by the professionals, followed by a tasting of the finished products.
On bank holiday Monday (25th May) there will be a unique opportunity to taste the
2008 vintage Dark Harvest red wine straight from the barrel. This will be followed by a tasting of a previous bottled vintage so that you can see how the wine will develop
as it ages. For future tour dates, or to reserve your place at the special barrel tasting, call 01444 881894 or visit www.bookersvineyard.co.uk.
Sussex residents can sample a selection of the Estate’s award-winning wines at The
Royal Oak in Rusper on Tuesday 27th May as they play host for an evening of English Wine Tasting. Just turn up on the night from 7.45pm. Alternatively, pop along to
The Pallant in Arundel on Friday 29th May from 10.30am to 2.30pm for a celebration of English wine, served within a stone’s throw of the historic and picturesque Arundel Castle.

About the Bolney Wine Estate at Bookers Vineyard
The Bolney Wine Estate at Bookers Vineyard lies in the heart of rural Sussex. It
started back in 1972 with 3 acres of vines. The new era for us started in the 1990’s when Samantha Linter took charge of the winemaking. The Estate is a family run
business, Samantha being the daughter of the owners and founders, Janet and Rodney Pratt. Since Sam’s arrival there have been many international and national
award wins and the vineyard plantings have expanded to 33 acres. In 2005 a brand new, state of the art winery was completed, with help in the form of a grant from DEFRA.
Wines from the Bolney Wine Estate at Bookers Vineyard are available from selected
Waitrose and Tesco stores across the South East, Booths supermarkets in the North and online from Waitrose Wine Direct, Ocado, and www.bookersvineyard.co.uk.
